oh my god it's windy and sunny

so the bar i was in tonight did not have the DNC on though last week at the same time it had the RNC on (albeit closed captioned). fwiw, i happen to know that the owner of the bar leans right.

and this is part of the problem: too often, the logic of private enterprise trumps the civic spirit so thoroughly that a bar* won’t even dedicate one of its more than half a dozen televisions to a closed captioned broadcast of another political party’s convention.**

*DON’T FORGET THAT PEOPLE USED TO GET TO VOTE IN BARS
