Cocktail challenge night has left me in rough shape today. So glad this game is on ABC, no need to venture out to watch.
GO ARGENTINA!
Toby absolutely nailed the fruit drink of the night.
Juice of one lime
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz homemade grenadine
Large chunk of Galia melon
2 oz white rum (in this case, Flor de Cana)
Muddle the melon in the simple syrup. Add the lime juice, grenadine, and rum. In a cocktail shaker full of ice, shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass.
Drink it. Drink it all, you.
My favorite so far…
1/2 of a persimmon
5 basil leaves
2.5 oz Vodka (Prairie Organic in this case)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Sugar
Club soda
Lime wedge
Chop up the persimmon and muddle it with the basil in a mixing glass. Fill glass with ice and add vodka, a pinch of sugar, and Angostura. Shake briefly. Add club soda to desired taste. Garnish with lime wedge.
I could drink 10,000 of these…in a row.
Portugal vs. Brazil, Spain vs. Chile.
…I’ve been watching so much soccer lately that that Brewers/Twins game felt so incredibly slow.
